Olutanga Zamboanga Sibugay - Fiesta is the word used for the thanksgiving season for the crop yielding and for the squashy year of fishing that fisher folks gratified, all the way through offerings are to follow. Usually town fiesta is the event for the church, to get off from variance the LGU of Olutanga as far as concern united and tie up to have one celebration .
Olutanga is the place in which diversities in resources are combined like fishing that seaweeds are cultured ready for all seasons to harvest for the traders Fishermen go fishing along the sea level and because of its abundance of sea product, their livelihood is maintained, as well as the farmers are very grateful for their quarterly harvest of the coconut tree, the blessing significantly for life existence that in no doubt they are optimistic that they are blessed by God, the giver of all things, on top of their belief fiesta is open to celebrate in the place .
August 8, 2011 the season opening so as to the various activities have started like the rising of the flags of the different offices with the DEP-ED, the municipal mayor Hon. Joel Capotulan participated in the rising of the flags where in the LGU‘s flag rises the no1, then the parish priest Fr,Danilo Noval SVD had given the speech that he uttered the beloved patron MARIA NUESTRA SENORA delos REMEDIOS and spread out the 58th anniversary of the town fiesta with its theme, STA MARIA ,INAHAN NI JESUKRISTO ; SUMBANAN SA PAGKAMAPAUBSANON UG PAGKAMASINUGTANON SA PULONG SA DIOS, the theme’’ encourages for us to be humble like the Saint of Sta, Maria to acquire peace and unity in the place where we live in today and forever’’ NOVAL expressed
The different booth highlighted the opening program since the author for the structure is the municipal executive Hon, Joel Capotulan, he is extremely grateful that the LGU officials, staff and members had been moving with his simple instruction hence the different booth erected and implemented ready for the said celebration . The executive suggested for the booth so as to be displayed by the different AGRI-products, marine products and industrial products to augment the green and healthy environment.
The erected booth is not for temporary used while it is reserved for the ARAW celebration and soon to Christmas season, yet there will be an extra additional lights decoration to bring in the delights of CHRISTMAS nevertheless the season is to be celebrated throughout the world .
The municipal executive acknowledged the different officials, especially the organizer for the booth construction, the participation of the DEP-ED, especially for the students showed the dance talent he defined that there are so many talented individuals in the island of Olutanga yet the lack of confidence can’t be avoided because of the exposure that still needed. He is swanking the support of the LGU officials, staff and members to the max.
People in the community observing the fiesta phenomena enjoyed much, together with their relatives, families and friends. Anyway fiesta is celebrated annually therefore people are ready to take pleasure in the moment of time to feel the savor of life.
It shimmered to the 13th day of August since it is the high point of the singing contest to select the champion with the thousand of cash prizes. Crowds did not feel the rain drops and the merriment have had continued instead of going home they used big umbrellas just to wait the announcement of winners
Monday August 15, 2011 is the finale of the event, different activities are much participated by different offices like the parade in the morning different organizations fasten together then it is followed by the morning program that the guest of honor is the Board Member of the first district Hon, Cresencio Jore and in the afternoon the street dancing takes part by different schools with clusters.
In the night, is the distribution of the awards and prizes by the municipal mayor Hon, Joel Capotulan ,
The celebration started happily and ended peacefully.
